Feast of Christ the King

I feel such great sorrow at having offended Thee, O infinite Goodness, that I fain would suffer all the punishment due not only to the sins I have committed, but also to those into which I should have fallen, had it not been for the help of Thy grace.
St. Margaret Mary

Today we can gain a plenary indulgence by the public recitation of the Act of Consecration to the Human Race to Christ the King:

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before Thy altar. We are Thine, and Thine we wish to be; but to be more surely united with Thee, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Thy most Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known Thee; many too, despising Thy precepts, have rejected Thee. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Thy Sacred Heart. Be Thou King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken Thee, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned Thee; grant that they may quickly return to their Father's house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. Be Thou King of those who are received by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd. Be Thou King of all those who are still involved in the darkness of idolatry or of Islamism, and refuse not to to draw them all into the light and kingdom of God. Turn Thine eyes of mercy towards the children of that race, once Thy chosen people: of old they called down upon themselves the Blood of the Savior; may It now descend upon them, a laver of redemption and of life. Grant, O Lord, to Thy Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with
one cry: "Praise be to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to It be glory and honor for ever." Amen.

The requirements are:
1. public recitation of this prayer
2. 1 Our Father and 1 Hail Mary for the Holy Father
3. Sacramental Confession within 1 week before or after
4. worthily receive Holy Communion
5. be free from the attachment to venial sin.

5 Months

Kili is now 5 months old, weighing in at... I kid you not... 19 pounds. He was moved into a big crib.
The quilt he is on was made by a friend of ours, isn't it gorgeous!!  The little horsey was also a gift to him.
At 5 months he MUST sit at the table. Not in a high chair... that's for babies... he's a big kid now... apparently... or so he thinks.  Soup night isn't a good time to have him on your lap though!
The hunters target practicing to get ready for the big hunting week coming up!  Absolutely nothing to do with Kili turning 5 months old.

Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

Our small homeschooling group went on our annual field trip to a local corn maze.
This year's theme was a Kraken.  The oldest kids went to "get lost" in the corn maze. The boys made it through the entire thing in just over 10 minutes while the girls took a significantly longer time :D.
The moms and littles went on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. This is Babe and Bess the Belgians.
 This was our driver.
This is the owner of the maze.

It might be noted that Kili did not like the hayride one bit.  I'm pretty sure he said some words that shouldn't be uttered. He screamed the whole time. He was a joy to have aboard. But everyone had a nice time anyway :)  Pippin said he should have been called "Sour Man" (Saruman)
I was pretty sure the children got the dirtiest pumpkins in the patch.  Mud everywhere.  But that's ok, just part of the process of imbibing our peck of dirt.
 Aren't they beautiful horses!

Barn

After almost 5 months of trying to get a quote for a barn-ette (small barn) the project finally started. We had a project time frame of the end of November.  So, on Oct 11th they delivered the barn.  Hence the name of the Farm portion of Trinity Acres is St. Michael Defender of the Divine Mother.  That's what a barn looks like when it arrives on the truck.
So the following Monday, October 14th, Aragorn spoke with our rep to get a projected time of arrival so we could get the necessary gravel and such. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday.  1/2 hour after they got off the phone the builder's arrived.
It's just another proof that our time on this earth is not our own and always be ready to accept God's little practical jokes.... they are infinite!

I believe this is how far they got the first day.  The second day was too short to get a picture because one of the buliders had marital problems and had to leave to get his son to school... since he refused to go.  Of course if the kid had been at home studying it wouldn't have been a problem :D

At this point there was a typical funsie.  The "porch" posts were too short and they had sent the wrong color siding.  So other than a few more enhancements to the building it's on hold until the siding comes in.  Always has to be something to test us!
Frodo helping by holding down the fence....!
In the meantime the boys had decided it was high time they started pole vaulting. No joke. Truly, they were trying this.

To be continued....

Just Enjoying Fall

We've got a fat drooly damp kissy baby thing going on around here.

 And we have a circus.

 Combining soybeans
Rounding Spinning Rotating Making round bales

 Lots and lots of reading.

Yeah, we do Teaching Textbooks and love it. I've heard some say "It's weak".  I have yet to figure out how it's weak, if my children are solving math problems and the computer is computing their scores and it removes about 8 hours of work for me a day, well, I'm ok with such "weakness" :D

And you ask, "Where are the uniforms?" And I say, "I don't know, I don't recall telling them not to wear them but it always happens."  We'll be back to it shortly.
 And more books.
Please note the difference between the girl reading the book up there and the 2 boys reading the book.  Even reading books is a contact sport.  Who needs sports if you can turn reading into a sport.
We have the most enjoyable children's choir.

Gotta get a leaf pile together. My memory of raking leaves was being so excited to jump in the pile.  They were too damp and I ended up with slugs on my legs. Ewww.  Nice memory. These leaves pictured incidentally are very dry :D
Caio!
That's for Lady M, just want her to know that I've been learning some Italian from her blog :D
