A Most Blessed Thanksgiving All

A most blessed Thanksgiving to all!

There is no better way to thank God for our blessings than by way of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. We were blessed to attend Mass with Fr. Z this morning.  We had a simple day and great food.  It's nice to have a few days to relax!

Hunting Season

Kili eyeing the hunters at a safe distance.

Aragorn got the first deer in our company.  His brother got the second.
Prepping venison to take to the butcher to make into gyro meat. YUM!

The vantage point I didn't view, but sent Pippin in to take a couple pictures.

Sam "tarred and feather" (actually dunked and plucked) a couple turkeys for our Thanksgiving Day dinner. As I went out to visit our little donkey Jack who has been ill, I was greeted with this decor dangling from the uniloader (skidsteer).  I guess we do decorate afterall...?
Sam got the 3rd deer in our party.  Frodo and his cousin are still anxiously awaiting their own shot.
Sam cutting up one of the turkeys. It was SOOOO good, Very tender juicy breast meat.
Just before we sat down to eat Frodo noticed a little black dot out in the field and ran to go see a raccoon.
There is some discrepancy whether it was Aragorn who shot the raccoon (a raccoon out during the day isn't a good thing) or if it was Kili who stood by the window with his finger gun and shot it.  :D

Choir Concert

The HFH 1st-5th graders gave a little concert (yes, the Blessed Sacrament was removed from the church)
 Pippin, Bilbo & Poppy participated.

Afterwards there was a little treats reception.

Great job everyone!

Peg People Animals

Frodo & Sam cut out animals for the Nativity Peg People we will be making soon.
Be sure to check out Catholic Icing for all their ideas for easy Peg People.
The wood for these came from our woods

Drilling the holes for the peg people to ride atop the horse, donkey or camels.
 Not just a little dusty!
The boys cut out 42 animals (and have another 18 to do, at this point they decided to add in a little Dr. Suess to the animals.  The camels with the saddles actually were a hit, however, camels with beards and ears didn't take the cut and had to be fixed :D

Tea Party

We were invited to a lovely tea party at a lovely friend's house.
We went with a bouquet of white radishes... *snicker*
 The treats were delicious!
The company keeping was magnificent adn full of laughs from start to finish.
If we didn't have an hour and 23 minute drive home we'd have stayed another hour or two.
I brought my 4 oldest girls and had an absolutely splendid time.
We played several cames, chuck full of laughs.

We were serenaded with a delightful little "band".  They were great!

It's such a blessing to be able to get out for a few laughs, tea and treats.
Thank you!!
