Happy Birthday Eleanor, Chess, Skiing, Skies

Happy Sweet 16th Birthday, Eleanor! Frodo is beyond over-the-moon excited for you! :P
Merry, Pippin, and Bilbo attended a chess tournament at the Baraboo high school...
This was on the wall to "play" with... in a high school... not a pre-school, a high school... um... ok...

The boy in the black jacket had his lucky feather? Or a quill pen.

Oversized chess set, yes, kids actually did play with it.
Necco went out of business last year (I think) so I bought the last 2 remaining necco packs. Fond memories of Necco's as a kid :D

Left to right: Pippin came in 1st place (undefeated) K8 division, Bilbo didn't place in top 5 but still won a game in K8 division (should have put him in K5, my bad!), Merry came in 4th in the K12 division.
Most of us went to the Wonders of Physics program; it was great!!

Since it is the 150th birthday of the Periodic Table of Elements, that was the theme.

Definitely hope to go to this each year!

Eleanor's (grouchy photographer's) 16th birthday includes some hand made signs by her sister :D

Tickets to the King and I!

 This sounds yummy... *blech*
We took Eleanor out for her birthday dinner at Journey as she wanted shrimp and there is alot of shrimp and seafood here.

 She requested a Costco cake.

 Glorious sunset!

Full moon was also glorious but of course my phone doesn't take great lunar photos.

We had a new calf born. I call him stumpy, look at those short little stocky legs. Frodo is delighted as this is his calf.
 She was a tiny calf.
Not a flattering photo of Samwise but the point isn't him or his hair but the thing he's holding... made on a 3D printer. I cannot wrap my brain around that.
We went on a ski field trip with our large homeschooling group. Kili skied for the first time and did great, the one problem... no fear...

 Unflattering photos...

Poppy and Marigold did great their 2nd time skiing. I ended up getting to ski as well as I couldn't leave Kili to ski alone. Thanks to Taekwondo, I wasn't sore.
 More of God's great glory.
