Obituary HERE
I knew Father David when he was at St. Hyacinth Church in Detroit. That was the early 80's and I was just a boy. He was a splendid priest who took his time to teach the Faith to me. He would come back to St. Hyacinth throughout the years to say Mass and we would host a reception for him. In fact, his congregation of OFMI was born at the side altar of our church. I remember he gave fiery sermons which kept all of our attention. I was lucky to correspond with him this past Christmas. He will truly be missed. Ora pro nobis, Fr. David. Rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this! I first met Fr. David when he would visit at Magdalen College. We'd have splendid pierogy parties! When I moved to WI to teach in a small Catholic School he would come and give parish missions and visit our priest at the time, Fr. Alfred Kunz. I was blessed to see Fr. David just a couple months ago when he came to visit at that parish. I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity! I was looking forward to sending him a picture of our children. May he rest in Peace!
ReplyDeleteI remember Fr. David and the brothers when they lived in monastery in Ohio. R.I.P.
