We took a field trip to a local fire station. A friend of ours who does fire work gave a great tour.
I really want some of these (coat hook stations... not fireman gear) for a mud room.
Kili really, really, really liked the bells. I'm sure it has nothing to do with also really, really, really liking to make noise.
Marigold going in (or coming out) of a fire truck.
Kili was very enthralled with a body he found lying around.
He then wanted to point out that he found the legs, too.
A very much older fire truck.
Another bell.
Our friend thought it would be a good idea to turn on all the fire truck lights....
.... and sound the alarm. Yes, it was very, very loud.
Getting to try on an oxygen tank.
Kili thought it was very "heasy" (heavy)
Pippin clowning around with the O2 tank.
The firemen need to get their gear on in less than 2 minutes. Our friend got his on in 1 minute 29 seconds (if I recall correctly) They don't mess around when it comes to saving lives.Afterwards we went bowling. I thought I got more than 1 picture, but one picture I got. Kili really likes bowling and seemingly has done all the proper actions. Not sure where he got that from.
The little girls wanted to play with my hair and gussied it up. They looked at it and thought it was so pretty. I looked at it and thought it was so gray. Ho. Hum.
Another Narnia play...
I had to take one of the kids to the doctor's as I thought he had pneumonia (only bronchitis thankfully) but I thought the "boy and girl" jelly fish in the take were really neat. (Easily amused)
A local St. Vincent's had these awesome HUGE paintings like you'd see in a mansion. Loved the one of the Angelus, just didn't love the price. Ouch! The frame even was amazing. It was a good 4 or 5 inches thick all the way around.
Aragorn and I went out to dinner, thanks to a generous friend who gave us a gift certificate. Loved the door handle! (and the food was great, too!)
I took 4 of the boys to go hear the UW Varsity Band concert for school kids. It was great.
We had great seats for their marching portion. They went just inches away from us.
During the "chicken dance" song (which I do not find amusing though their rendition had me laughing quite a bit) this young man was playing his instrument (what is it called again?) upside down. (this I did find amusing)
Can you guess why we had ringing in our ears for hours after the show?
So I had this great photo opportunity. All 3 of the stooges were standing on stumps of wood and it looked pretty nifty. But when they saw me get my phone out to take a picture they hurried to look like they had been working all the while.
Unfortunately we had a possum (oppossum) in one of our chicken nests and we didn't think to take a picture. However, after Frodo took care of the possum, we did think to take a picture. They aren't cute. Country living. Gotta love it!
