March 14-27 Miscellaneous and Happy Birthday Aragorn and Pippin

Some kind of experiment going on. It reminded me of Physical Science with Mr. Antonnacci, my first real lab said "Place the crucible in the flame" So I picked it up, put it in the flame and burnt my fingers. The class laughed their fool heads off. The experiment for a first time lab-er really should have explained the use of tongs. 😂 That said, I actually did very well in science, proved only by the achievement and ACT tests, preferring to talk in class than pay much attention.

Bilbo's lighthouse drawing.

Photos curtesy of Kili who wanted to share his battle scene.... quite a few were left out...

Kili also insisted on having his photo taken while he put detergent in the washing machine, proving that he has his day of washing the boys laundry, too. Laundry is done once a week by bedroom, plus Eowyn, leaving a day for towels, uniforms and such. Works very well. Now if we would get it all put away in a more timely fashion we'd be in control.

St. Patrick's day was our usual day of green foods (though no green eggs and ham.... maybe next year)
Green pancakes

We had hail on St. Parick's day.

Eleanor in line to take her photo and her written road test. PASSED! :)

Back to St. Patrick's day green jello, green-ish cookies...

These adorable shamrock ravioli with pesto went along with our annual Ruebens.

We sold the last of the puppies all to good loving homes.

On the Feast of St. Joseph we had outdoor Stations of the Cross at our house with this wonderful priest Fr. Alex. Mr. Rex also joined us, bringing a relic of the True Cross.

For the Feast of St. Joseph we celebrated the Incarnation with an egg cake from Costco.

And of all the crazy things.... GOATLINGS! Really. I've never been much of a fan of goats due to the fact we had any number of demon goats in the past that eat and beat up one's buildings. We picked up 10 goats that all needed to be bottle fed (unbeknownst to us until the day-of). Thankfully I had some experience with bottle feeding lambies when Aragorn's sister would give us some orphans to raise (fun days). One good thing about goats is they only need to be fed 4 x per day unlike lambies that are much more needy.  But it was a new learning curve.  2 ended up dying, but otherwise it's been a decent experience.

The hardest part was that some of these did not want to eat.  But eventually, they didn't want to stop eating. Now if we could (a month later) get them to stop bottle feeding. They only bottle feed twice a day.

Samwise and Belladonna taking home their puppy.

Such sweet, lovely spring flowers!

Happy birthday Aragorn and Merry! They share a birthday that always falls during Lent.   Although I enjoy making delicious copy cat Dairy Queen Ice Cream cakes, we had a last minute pick up at DQ instead this time.

Poor Kili had a bike accident. He had underestimated how slowly he should turn into the driveway from the road, and was thrown off into a rock. He was a frightful bloody mess. Amazingly no teeth were harmed nor his glasses broken. Ultimately no harm done and he was back on his bike in no time.
Lego version of the Praetorium and the scourging...

Maple syrup days came and went in my delay in posting pictures. Spring is a busy time of year....
... what with goatling feedings, bottle washing, and so on... by Sunday, I just didn't think about posting but taking a serious day of rest... though animals still need to be fed.

Lego crucifixion style.

Stations of the Cross with St. John Cantius live-stream. They performed the most glorious stations ever!

Goats and skirts don't mix, but I won't go into the details. I had to get a pair of overalls. Aragorn finding it extremely comical bought me a hat to go with the get-up.

St. Ambrose performed an amazing "Singing in the Rain" production. It was spectacular as only St. Ambrose productions can be. We missed their performance in 2020 due to covid restrictions but were delighted to watch this year!
