Rome was much more crowded with tourists
than expected this time of year but with
the Olympics having finished and a marathon of
some sort there were long lines even with ticketed entry

On our way to St. Peter's and the Vatican Museums
and a major pick pocketing adventure.
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Suffrage (Chiesa del Sacro Cuore del Suffragio) is home to one of the strangest museums in Rome, that of the Museo delle Anime del Purgatorio (Museum of the Souls of Purgatory).
Unfortunately this was closed for renovation.
