Eowyn and Frodo were teen leaders in this year's Jesus, Mary, Joseph and me! summer program. Each group had their own banner. The girls had white (for the water flowing from the side of Christ) and the boys had red (for the blood flowing from the side of Christ)This year's theme was Divine Mercy. (And Poppy is not stretching her arms out in charismatic fashion... she's just being Poppy) She was very excited because she got permission to come a year early, she's at that bad cut-off date for everything being an early September baby.
Books on tape and farm work... not a part of JMJm!
Neither was this kitten who I believe since has been sold.
The days were filled with all kinds of activities for the boy groups and the girl groups.
The teen leaders were all great with the children. We don't seem to have a picture of the lovely woman who spear heads the whole kit and kaboodle (sorry, Deborah! really, "kaboodle" is a word... kinda...)
My husband and I were just discussing last night that Poppy is a tomboy. It's bound to happen when a girl follows right after 3 boys in a row. Who knows, maybe some day she'll be a refined woman in frills.... or... something.
Snacks and crafts... but not at the same time...
The teens rotated in spending time in front of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the week. What a blessing!
One of the teen leaders as Sr. Faustina.
The last day there was a nice procession in honor of Our Lord as Divine Mercy. Unfortunately the priest who provided daily Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament was ill this day so he was unable to process.
The procession included the sung recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy that Aristotle (for those of you who know that pyramid of musical faith) had taught them throughout the week.
The week ended with "build your own" ice cream sundaes.. and then some free time ... which seems to indicate that they had had vast quantities of sugar before hand. :D All had a great spiritually uplifting and socially enjoyable time!
Thank you Eowyn for your pictures!
