Pre-Wedding Posted Post-Wedding

 The extended patio-over-hobbit-hole continues

 Just visiting my turkeys

 Setting up the photo decor

Things were looking up briefly when the Monday of the wedding our state moved into Phase 2, allowing 100 at the wedding (without having to have half of them be peaceful or not-so-peaceful protestors. AND I found a pack of clorax wipes for the first time in 3 months. And it was literally only ONE time. After that zilcho.

Life always happens, funny, that. We got about this far when the cement mixer broke. Thanks to a very hand extended family, we were able to borrow one. Of course it took alot of driving to go get it, but at least we were able to finish... and hope that it won't have troubles come Wisconsin winter.

 Future diabetic

Then we saw a UFO. Really, it was a UFO. It never was identified, you know. Kili was just delighted as he never saw a UFO before. 😂

Wednesday before the wedding the tent arrived. Hard to believe all that tent went into the back of a pick up.
We were very pleased with our experience with affordable tent rentals out of Green Bay. I will post the link later, the one I have seems to not be working. They came, set it up and left. And the tent was beautiful. I really liked that they put white around the wood posts. They make these tents for events like ours and then sell them to tent rental companies, so they are brand new and lovely. This tent was 40x100 feet. If you are interested in tent rental, I can give you his email address. We got in on a special for ordering 6 months early, paying in full and taking the risk it wasn't a scam. And it wasn't :)
Working on the side gardens of the hobbit hole

At this point, I left to go grocery shopping as I needed to get the last of the cold items. I violated the "One shopping trip per week per family" at Woodman's but, not everyone was hosting a DIY wedding reception so I felt I had a dispensation! Corona really botches up weddings.
Upon my return things were really looking beautiful. Or we thought so in our rugged, rustic way.

Wednesday evening the girls and I went out to dinner to celebrate the last time together. We went to Red Robin, bottomless rootbeer floats afterall! I'm not the least bit good at taking selfies as I rarely ever take them.

Afterwards we had a (new) Aladding sing-a-long movie night. And we did sing with gusto.
On the way home from Mass we saw a darling goose family with goslings. So cute.

Thursday morning the rental company arrived with the tables, chairs, chafing dishes, and chill tables.

adding some stairs to the hobbit hole patio area

This was given to me by a friend for Christmas a year and a half ago. Funny the kids set it up with a bear next to it. Mama bear, most important work you will ever do. 😂

 Huh? Uh-huh! Typical.
We set up for a drive-thru for the extra guests beyond family and a few very close friends. Corona once again botching up our wedding plans. Initial plan was for inviting 300-400 people.

The dog, who thinks she is a person, all gussied up for the wedding and did she ever know it!

My parents arrived on Thursday evening.

Friday we prepped food in rapid time.
Crazily, we took extra precautions and put all the toppings for the taco bar in little containers.

Vases ready and waiting for the flower lady to come help us with reception flowers. The Church flowers were delivered to the Church on Thursday evening as I wanted them set up for the Feast of the Sacred Heart.

And of course, on this day before the wedding, the bull got picked up to go to another family farmette to do his business.

Working pizza lunch. Being the Feast of the Sacred Heart, it was a meat eating Friday.
As guests slowly arrived, we had chess competitions and cards going... and lots of chatting. We are so grateful for welcoming Celeborns family (who will not be posted) into our extended family-friend circle. Truly beautiful people. Very like-minded in all the important stuff.

 Testing out the lawn games.

 The flowers were gorgeous!

Meanwhile some of the less refined children were finding frogs. This itty bitty one still had a bit of his tail.

Friday evening we had a rehearsal at the church. Corona means every other pew roped off. Another nuisance!
Kili was beyond proud of his great role as boat boy. He did a great job, including all the cute things little boys do when they try so hard to be a good altar boy.

We were having such a great time with our guests I totally forgot to take photos of the rehearsal dinner. This is the only one I took. Original plan was to get costco sandwiches but they aren't catering at this time. So we went with Milios subs which were delicious, a pickle platter (yum!) pasta salad and fruit. For dessert we had amazing ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery. Delicious! Casual rehearsal dinners is definitely the way to go. It was so relaxing and a great way to mingle and chat.

Next on to wedding day! :)
