June 27-30 - South Carolina - Part I

I'm once again 825 photos behind in posting, but life has been moving along at a speed hard to keep up with! I'm at the point of the summer wondering how we will add in a full line of homeschooling curriculum to our already busy days. But as always, life will make the necessary shifts. But now, back to finishing up photos from June. Aragorn, Eleanor, and I took a fly-by-several-days journey to South Carolina....

After stopping in a couple business places for Aragorn in Ohio, we stayed the night in Beckley, West Virginia. I cannot count how many times I sang "Country Roads" throughout the entire trip. Not much was open for dinner by the time we got there, but we found this awesome Mexican restaurant that was reasonable, delicious, and the staff was great! Their "secret sauce" and salsa was amazing! Great little family run business.

Next we arrived in Charleston, SC

First of our children to see the ocean

As you can see, Eleanor is a photographer
She has a great skill in capturing precious moments
and unique photo ops.

The pool we didn't go in because we enjoyed the ocean

We found a little restaurant with delicious southern style foods.

We got up early the next morning to see the sunrise

Looked dubious at first.

But we were blessed with a pretty sunrise,
maybe not the most brilliant but unique and lovely.

practicing our black belt forms on the beach

and other antics

Having spent some of my childhood living just off the Mississippi River, I always still love to see the barges (and ships).

Charleston was a very pretty city. I wish we had more time as i would have loved to tour an old plantation.

We walked around Fort Moultrie

Next stop was the ships tours......
