Relics - Family Reunion - Wedding - Etc.

I had lunch out with a friend thanks to a generous gift certificate from Aunt Phoebe. Thanks Aunt Phoebe!!!! I removed the beautiful picture of my friend to protect her from those of ill-will.

We volunteered to help with the set up of the "Treasures of the Church" relics. Such and honor!

Fr. Carlos Martin only has 2 people help him with the setting up of the relics. Merry and Pippin were given this great honor.

Relic of the True Cross

Then we all touched hundreds (and hundreds and hundreds) of Sacramentals to each and every one of the relics (all 165 of them.

Kili was entirely enthralled with the piece of stone from the cave St. Michael appeared in.
Each relic has a card that tells the story of the saint whose tiny remains were available for veneration.

Kili chose St. Dominic Savio as his special saint.
A piece of one of the veils of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Piece of the lance that pierced Christ's side
Fragment of the crown of thorns

Then we went to Adoration/Benediction and a great talk by Fr. Carlos Martin. The main point that struck me was the 4th "handcuff" - that of not forgiving! Then he went on to tell the story (one of my absolute favorites) about St. Maria Goretti.

First Saturday in August is Aragorn's father's side family reunion. We had  a great time, many laughs and enjoyed catching up and making new memories.

We had a zoom call with Uncle Wayne who was planning on coming. He had gotten Covid and was in the hospital close to 3 months. But now the wild fires in Canada pollution is causing him to have alot of trouble breathing so he was unable to come. Uncle Harley was also not able to come has he had a horrific accident when a tree that sprung back and got him in the face just a handful of days before the runion. He was very lucky to be alive, but is moving forward and recovering.
Some of us went for a walk in Sturgeon Bay. Very pretty!

We had an eerie ride home as we drove right into a fierce storm cell. We thankfully missed a tornado.

Green is not exaggerated or colorized, it was literally this green.

We got home and I quickly ran over to catch some of the reception of my God Child by Confirmation.

She looked just like a princess!
Such a cute couple! :)
