2024 - July 11 - Seward House

Hmmm, some kind of critter keeps knocking over our statues in the chapel... hmmm... maybe we need a web cam...

Sidewalk sales in Skaneateles. It was sidewalk side days (curbside festival). These cute little jello cups with a gummy bear in a gummy circle (floating in water, cute!)

Spent an afternoon with a high school friend of mine. First went to Bailiwich where she bought me lunch.

Then we went to the Seward House. Unfortunately, it was so hot that they  couldn't show us upstairs. *snap* William H Seward was the one who made arrangements for the purchase of Alaska "Seward's Folly" among other names that escape me

Beautiful!

Then we went over to Fort Hill Cemetery to see Harriet Tubman's and  Seward's burial place and find the oldest tomb we could

Cornelia Seward's grave needs a little cleaning. She was the 5 year old daughter of Seward who died from small pox.

Oldest grave 1806.
