Winter, Winter and More Winter

Beware of a civil war general.
Doing a little corporal work of mercy "digging out the snowed in"
Meanwhile I stayed inside with the girls that Eowyn nannies (nanny's?) for. Aren't they adorable!!!
Working on the doll house bit by bit, Gail! :D

A new desk area. Nothing fancy, just practical.
 Finishing touches on the bookshelves.

 Just hanging around.
High Mass for the Feast of St. Blaise. Complete with blessing of throats.
Stream was bulging between snow storms when spring hit for a day and then had to get back to winter.

Poppy, Marigold, and Bilbo went skiing with their cousins. A first for Poppy and Marigold.

I grew up skiing and found the helmets comical. But I guess it was good they wore them as they had alot of crashing and burning going on.

They took a lesson, which was a good thing...

By the end of their lesson and skiing part of the afternoon, they were much improved and doing quite well.
In case you wonder what it looks like when we have to work on binders of music for our Young Ladies' Choir. And in the event you wonder why we have Taekwondo mats in the living room, the basement where we were suppose to have our TKD mats is... let's just say... under construction. (read: a big mess as we try and organize, we are *not* born organized people!)
We had a couple of big ice storms. One day it took me about an hour to scrape away the ice off the windshield, the next time it was a mere 45 minutes.  We made so much racket trying to get the ice off my husband came out telling me we shouldn't bang the windshield so hard. We weren't, we were simply scraping.
 Skating on the driveway.

Skating on the road. Frodo went sledding down the road at the rate of a car in a rush. He took a video of it and it was rather comical. Not sure where he posted it so can't post it here.

 pirate in the house

Ice, ice, and more ice. Not sure why no one broke any part on their anatomy.
 Ice rain.
Just singin' in the ice rain, just singin' in the ice rain.
bizarre stuff, like little plastic ice balls but not plastic.

It does, however, make for beautiful foliage.

Photo session: the grouchy photographer and Eowyn

One would think with a neatly organized junk box her room would be immaculate....
We make about 12 loaves of bread at a shot because of the size of our mixer. So the kids started making their own buns (really nice buns). This one was an interesting one.
We had several big snowstorms. The biggest dropped about a foot at our place. I like snow so I was delighted (hey, I was born in St. Paul, MN, I like snow.

It was a beautiful day for a walk in the woods.
I asked why Marigold had her snowpants on the outside of her jacket. Because her cousin does that. Um... ok.  We all take our fashion advice from someone... I guess.

Walmart looked like it was in a mountainous region. No mountains here.
Due to the snow I had to drive Galadriel to work. Read: drifts too deep for a car. So I did the grocery shopping and came back to help her.
Happy St. Valentine's Day! (complete with a picture of the relic of St. Valentine, his beheaded skull)
We went on a field trip to Sassy Cow Creamery but really they weren't open for tours so we drove a long ways for ice cream cones... in winter... but it did warm up to 41 degrees (it was minus 55 degrees not too long ago... winter is fun... or at least interesting)
I had a triple chocolate cone that was really chocolatey and really good.

A couple little boys were "bullying up" Kili for funsies and then suddenly I saw him lift up his had in a Taekwondo stance with a ridge hand strike. Cracked me up.

Then we went bowling enjoying the groovy shoes.
What are the chances Marigold's dress would make her bowling shoes.
She also happened to coordinate with the panel. We are sooo fashionable... or... something.

Kili won each round he played.
