Dresses, Archives, More Dresses

Oddity of the week. We were rearranging rooms when we discovered that a chess piece had been embedded into the side of one of the cubbies. Odd.
Kili's interest in piano tuning when the tuner came.
Being members of the Wisconsin Historical Society we get really neat invitations now and then. This time we took advantage of seeing the newly built archives. Started with a video.

Cold storage for videos and photos (about 40 degrees)

Old Mary Tyler Moore shows, Bugs Bunny and many more originals.
Paintings that come and go from the Governor's mansion (or wherever)
going from cold to room temperature takes 2 days so as not to ruin then.

 An old Harley

Fully automated closets with "miles" of garments.

 Book storage by size.
Tommy Bartlett's boat that was just in the news.
Who wouldn't want to climb inside an oversized Oscar Mayer weiner?

Sign from the original Culver's (Sauk City)

Shopping for wedding dresses with Galadriel

transformed from the left to the right. The dress has since arrived. Simple elegance.
 Catechesis

 Kili and his reading glasses
3 of my beautiful von-Family singers were in the Music Man. It was fabulous! I was so proud

I cried when this little guy sang! He was an amazing star of the show! We attended in the show in his 8th birthday!

Have notebooks and writing utensils, will travel... everywhere.

Eowyn got her new medival dress. AMAZING!!!
Maria's fiance was in town so we went out for dinner.
 Trying out some baby octopus
pondering that taste for a bit

My fortune cookie fortune said "Good thing are being said about you." Oh. I well know that isn't the case! 😂

Aragorn won luxury bingo so *I* ended up with a $200 gift card to a local spa (given had had no interest). I took a friend with me and had a terrific time.

Afterwards we had a delicious lunch.
I don't care much for selfies but when you don't have anyone to take the picture...
Despite the fog, it was a beautiful view.
You can see the Capitol across the way.

I have children who like to take pictures and I am never quite thrilled when I find some of me on the phone.
One of my amazing sisters-in-law told me about this great English program. Even after 18 years of teaching I still find new things. The nice thing, I can combine a few of my kids. I have hands-on type kids so anything hands on works well.

After having a hard time finding winter tires (why do we always wait too long?) I found it comical that Costco had a million of them.
The hair! Cracked me up! One of her sisters had braided her hair beautifully but when Marigold took out the braids, she got this!

 Rosie's drawing of Legolas

We went to a cousin birthday party at this waterpark. Kids had a great time and I enjoyed a bit of a swim. Having lifted a heavy box in an awkward way that morning, the whirlpool was refreshing. Of course best of all was visiting with family.

We have our holy hour on Thursdays but the time overlaps with a black belt class some of the kids like to take. This week we decided rather than drive we would pop into a local church to spend some time there. And of all the blessings, they have adoration at that hour!
The work these kids come up with for their studying at Catechism is great.
Poppy is working on a map study of the Holy Land. Being able to name the cities, find them on the map and learn the biblical citations of where they take place.

 Liturgical calendar practice.

Craft and gift fair photos with our homeschooling group.

Panda ball "cage" (I never did figure out what panda ball is.

Hunting has begun! We had a hunter's breakfast awaiting the early morning hunters.
Later that day I went with Samwise's fiance and her family to go dress shopping!

And, she said YES to the dress! 2 dresses down 1 to go!
While Belladonna was thinking about whether to splurge on her bridal gown, we had a delicious Mexican lunch. Yum.
When I got home (late as I visited with a friend after dress shopping) I found something had taken part of my parking spot.
Aragorn got 1 on opening day.
