Apple Orchard and Other Things

Homeschool field trip to Lapacek's Apple Orchard.

One of our cats is the most prolific cat that ever lived, however, she has a very bad habit of eating her babies. Here are the babies, newly born, prior to her feasting. I thought I'd be scarred for life after walking outside and seeing her munching on a baby kitten. Seriously. Yuck.
Evening skies are the best paintings of perfection
Field trip to Treinen's Corn Maze - always lots of fun!

Here is my finished map. This year was "The Elephant's Child"  (Rudyard Kipling). You get 1/8th of the map to start and then search for the marked mail boxes to get the next piece of the puzzle.

Our TKD school has summer camps, two of which are movie camps. We didn't attend but we did attend the premier showing of the videos they made.  It was great fun.

Rosary Coast-to-Coast. Our Young Ladies' Choir sang for the Rosary Coast-to-Coast event that was held on the steps of our Capitol.  It rained so we were not able to have the Blessed Sacrament exposed.

Relics of St. Faustina and St. Dominic.
 We had a nice crowd
Afterwards Aragorn and I attended the tail end of a family reunion. This is the hat Great-great-something grandpa Andrew wore over from Europe.  (or maybe I have the story wrong). Being a Narnian fan, I call it "Uncle Andrew's hat"
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Creation, Redemption, and Parousia.

 Our Sumacs were glorious.

We picked lots and lots of crab apples and started working on jelly.
I juices some in the cold press juicer
and some in the steam method. I made one batch of jelly so far and it is amazingly delicious! :D

Really, really cute book that Galadriel found. Who could leave a book that turns into a doll house behind? Definitely not us!

Almost time to butcher the turkeys
I went to an amazing talk on Mysteries of the Rosary and Meditation. It was so beautiful! The Pilgrim Virgin Statue was present as well, making it extra special.
