Happy Birthday Frodo and Other Winter Things

Out to dinner with good friends as well as family.
Fuji Hibachi

Ma's China shepherdess 😃

Marigold's drawing of the mixer. (The young'uns have drawing contests quite frequently.

Not sure where the children unearthed this but it was a cross stitch pillow I made for my dad for Christmas eons ago. (Christmas 1982 to be precise). We had to learn to graduation from the Ukrainian school as the girls had to make waistbands with Uke cross stitch (red and black on white)

knitting projects

We celebrated Frodo's birthday. The boys thought it would be great fund to build him a lego village (?) that he could destroy with them. Birthday gifts just don't get better than that! 😂💗

Zoomin' with Uncle W. Not he's down to regular oxygen.

Sweet!

To celebrate Frodo's 21st birthday everyone was home! YIPPEE! We had homemade lasagna, salad, fresh rolls. Mint brownies for dessert.

Truly! He was thrilled with the crazy whirling and whistling candle. Never had better fun! 😂😂😂😅

Rosie scrapbooking the Christmas photos for the bulletin board.
I thought I got to the correct 4" mark for a baby cap. As it was, I had to go to 4-1/2 inches...
Kili wanted to share his civil war battle ...

Snow, snow, and more snow.

Found this childhood favorite at Bent and Dent

All prepped up for a photo shoot

Pulling and pushing the tractor back home... nice little parade.

We had a sledding party, to which I didn't take a single picture, however, I did laugh when one of the little ones pulled all the books off one shelf and found these treasures... MIA for 2 years. 😂

My mom sent me this photo of my (paternal) grandparents and my 3 sisters and me back in January of 2002.... I finally got a frame for it. I'm catching up on my to do list! 😂😂

Horrific car accident re-routed us on a frontage road. Apparently, a car turned on the 4 lane but thought it was only a 2 lane and ended up in a head on collision as he was going the wrong way. 1 death is what I heard Eternal Rest grant unto him/her O Lord...

Bob Ross according to Pippin.

February 2nd - Candlemas Day - Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple - Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Blessing of Candles, Procession (outdoors!) and Traditional Latin Mass

Coincidentally or not, Groundhog day is also on February 2. A few poems for your enjoyment

If Candlemas be fair and bright,
Come, Winter, have another flight;
If Candlemas brings clouds and rain,
Go Winter, and come not again.

OR....

If Candlemas Day is bright and clear,
There'll be twa (two) winters in the year.

OR....

If Candlemas day be dry and fair,
The half o' winter to come and mair,
If Candlemas day be wet and foul,
The half of winter's gone at Yule.

When the fog freezes or the air is damp and freezing the trees are so beautiful!

The first of 2 end tables Frodo is making for us (Christmas gift). It's beautiful!

Never a dull moment around here!

Our 2nd grandbaby is now pictured. Above he/she is sucking his/her thumb! How cute is that?!

St. Michael Fish Fry drive-thru style. YUM!

Rosie drew this picture for a friend of ours of the last Crusader from a holy card

On our way to Galadriel's house we stopped for lunch. Woops... we sat in the wrong space.

Their new place is in a gorgeous setting!

I took some pictures of some memorable bits of the ol' farm house. Wall paper samplings!

burlap decor!

The house is actually very nice and one of those that was added on here and there.

They took off the paneling in the closet they are re-doing and found an original outside wall!

  1. Another grandchild -how wonderful. I always enjoy looking at pictures of you family - you all seem to have so much fun together. My husband is one of 11 (but two have died recently) never seemed to have that type of family dynamic.
