Feastings in Lent

Due to St. Patrick's Day falling during Holy Week, the feast was moved to the Friday before. This falling on our lesson day so we celebrated with Grandma and Grandpa and Aragorn's sister (Happy Birthday!!) We made a yummy "Heart Attack Pound Cake" which is a favorite around here, green grapes (to pretend we were eating healthy), snakes out of Ireland (celery, peanut butter and raisins... tastes better than it sounds, most call them bumps on a log I believe!), See's St. Patrick Chocolates, Candy Potatoes, Green Apple candy sticks and chocolate shamrocks.

These were the candy potatoes, complete with "eyes". (See's Candies)

Chocolate shamrocks to recall St. Patrick's lesson with the 3 leaf clover and the Blessed Trinity.

Since we don't eat meat on Friday we ate our annual St. Patrick's Day Reubens the next day, which also happened to be the day the Church chose to move St. Joseph's Day (since his feast also falls during Holy week.)

Just wanted to show this lovely all wood statue of St. Joseph I bought for a pittance at St. Vincent's. I am sure we ate food this day but all I can remember off the top of my head are those yummy eclairs we ate!
