Happy Birthdays Etc Etc Etc

Happy Birthdays to my September babies!

Backtracking a little, Auntie took the little girlie (and Kili) cousins to a really neat hands on museum play place.

Another day the girlies got together with Auntie for a play date.
The Three Stooges went to a fair and then did a little hiking. Can you find Bilbo?

Way back in my teaching days the brother (JF) of one of my students (AF) drew this picture of Our Blessed Mother and Child in pencil.  The frame broke so Rosie got her hand son it and water colored it!  I thought it turned out lovely. There is a Sacred Heart picture somewhere. Perhaps she'll water color it as well.

It's back to school season!  Eowyn went back this week as a teacher's aid for K3-4.

Aragorn both this neat pan called a Happy Call, I think. It is great!
Snaps down so you can flip it over. Great for omlettes.
This time we used it for green beans. Yum.

Happy EIGHTH Birthday, Poppy!  She's the ever-smiley one.  She likes her current "Gollum teeth"! She's another bookworm and loves the Little House on the Prairie books best. She just started in 4th grade with her brother Bilbo. She's been with him from the get-go, so we'll just keep them together.

This was a busy week.  On Thursday we had Mr. Rober Gil (www.SeeYouInHeavenbook.com) come to speak to our Confraternity of Catholic Homeschooling Mothers.  He spoke on the role of motherhood, the anti-family culture, raising boys (!!!), and many other things. God willing, his deceased wife, whose writings got this all started, will soon be up for beatification. Pope John Paul II was looking for a mother who stayed home with her children in the modern era to canonize.  This is what started the confraternity. Be sure to get a copy of the book!

This year they came out with coloring books for girls (and one for boys). Promoting traditional motherhood from tots forward.

Mr. Gil's granddaughters make these lovely scapulars. I'd like to learn how to do that!

The girls gave a great little concert. I video taped one, but really wish I had taped the 2nd one when they sang! Very blue grass type family.
We are starting a 4-H group Faithfully Fraternal Friends that meets on "Fun Fridays". We have a lovely woman who teaches sewing and whatever else she has up her very talented sleeve.  And, she's a wonderful woman to boot!  We are very blessed! These are the little ones.

Frodo leads a group of boys.  They will be Blue Knights. Currently they are working on earning a Fatima badge in honor of the 100th anniversary.

 making burlap bookmarks
We have a lovely group of young ladies.
Even the boys will be challenged in their skills
The Little Blue Knights, lead by some of the older girls.
The Little Flowers lead by some of the older girls.
On Friday evening the Knights and Ladies of Divine Mercy had a grand year-opening on Our Lady's Birthday.
BP's incredible decorating skills will wow you.

 Cake, cake and more cake.

Love this picture! Fr. Rick Heilman hearing Confessions outside!
The few of us who were busy cutting cake were delighted that the guest speaker, Fr. Donald Calloway (HERE) was the first one up so we had the chance to meet this priest in real life in person. What a blessing!  The talk itself was the most amazing talk on the history of the Rosary that I have ever heard.
You can read about the talk in his book.  I had never heard of this priest before but he speaks eloquently about the rosary.
Here he is signing the books I bought.  Might I brag just a little that I had the blessed opportunity to exchange any number of words?  When I find a holy priest and get to exchange a few words... it's simply an incredible gift from God.  Please offer a Hail Mary for him.
There were over 400 people in attendance.  Check out the long line in the back to buy books!  And... they ran out!
Fr. Rick led us in singing Happy Birthday to Our Blessed Mother. I stupidly accidentally deleted the recording I made if it. It was pretty neat the volume of people singing to Our Lady with such gusto!
One of my dearest friends with Fr. Calloway.
I had my picture taken as well, but as we can see, Fr. Calloway took on a very concerned look haha!
Happy Birthday to our favorite Catholic Author!  As you will see we have any number of clowns who want to bless the picture taking.
Me, me! Let me in, too!
The taekwondo stooges getting in on it. I thought it was too funny so I didn't shoo them away for a better photo opportunity.

Frodo cut the cake with a jack knife. No, not a jack knife, a dagger that he carries around like most boys would carry a jack knife.
Really, there was no exchange of death warrants, even if this picture looks like it, with Eowyn caring very little about the prospect of pending martyrdom.  Really, it was just a choice moment, as you can see by the continuation of stooge behavior in the background.

Woops, forgot the video. Here you go:

Ave Maria!
