Frodo - First Degree Black Belt:
3rd (Bronze) in forms, sparring, XMA form, creative form,
1st (district champ) in combat sparring... Heading to World Championship in combat sparring in July!
Rosie - Purple Belt Decided
2nd (Silver) in forms and combat (tied for first but lost at a very close point)
and an injury in sparring (hence her pained face in the picture)
Merry - Purple Belt Decided (lowest rank in his competition):
     3rd in weapons
     2nd in forms and sparring
1st (district champ) in combat sparring
I learned my kids are great with sticks, hence the great combat sparring, probably something to do with long hours playing with sticks in the woods. All three of them did a great job!!

 Scoping out the hotel room
View from our room... a parking lot... joy
Friday evening we went to watch team sparring.

Since Costco was only a couple miles from our hotel we ran over there to get some pizza. On our way back we saw these families of geese with their goslings walking about a parking lot.
Getting ready for the big day.  Pippin came along as he plans to compete this year. His favorite is sparring and combat sparring.
Some of our school members who came to compete.

They started with a black belt judges meeting.

Then there was the oaths of the judges, and competitors.

We were honored with the presence of Grand Master and his wife.
Singing of the Korean national anthem and the American national anthem.

 Oaths
Friendly advice or encouragement from a friend, and instructor, at our school
 XMA and creative

 Tough group of boys!
 Merry's turn.

At the same time, and thankfully in the next ring over, Frodo was competing in his traditional forms and sparring. He skipped doing weapons.

 Awesome job!

Awesome job.... moving on to Worlds!

 Rosie's turn!
It was right about here she got a good kick below the belt. Ouch. But she rallied for nearly a first in Combat.  Awesome job Rosie!

Our school had 20 people win first place in districts taking 35 titles!

Sometimes 3 musketeers
sometimes 3 stooges
always 3 buddies
