Woops breakfast photos on the last page.... time zone issues...
We woke up very early.... like 4 or 4:30 am and definitely could not get back to sleep. But as I probably already said, we had a huge Chinese food buffet for breakfast. They sometimes put out odd foods for Americans like deep fried something or other. Some odd kind of egg thing. The spread includes Chinese buffet from salads to soup to Chinese "dinner" foods, cereal, breads, bars, yogurt, etc...
We went for a 4 mile walk along the river. Temperatures were 75-86 while we were there. Felt hot!
The bottom portion of every tree has a few feet of what paint looking stuff. We learned it is a pesticide to keep worms from climbing up the trees.
Interesting but no idea...
The area of Hangzhou we stayed in is Fuyang.
Bamboo "forest" but no Pandas.
Pandas are either in the zoo or Sichuan which is 20 hours from where we were. Yes, China is huge.
Outdoor market for the festival/holiday
Kung Fu Panda building.
In case you wanted to know what this is! 😂 Truly, the language barrier is huge. People here do not speak English except a few people. Most communication was via cellphone translator and ends up saying things like "The pool is closed for business." (I think they meant for cleaning!)
No fishing pole limit
There are people everywhere keeping things neat and tidy.
Croquet building!! At least that is what it looked like.
These flowers smelled so beautiful!
We went to a neat museum, Huang Gongwang Art Museum (I think). Of course everything was in Chinese but we got the idea.
Pottery found in the ground
This a scroll known as "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains"
Yes! They do wear these hats!
Nice parking job!
Interesting stairway at the hotel.
Out our window a little pagoda
Market
Bamboo processing
We stopped for lunch at local a shop. No idea how to order but they had some pictures so we pointed. No idea what the meat was but it was very good. We also picked out octopus in their fresh bins.
By the end of the trip we thinking we figured out what the "pillows" were. Rice flour "bread" so to speak. It makes for a very puffy food. Often used for desserts.
How is this art?
Hangzhou is famous for its green tea. I don't know why they use a glass to seep tea as they get hot! But they place the tea on top.
It is ready when it falls to the bottom.
The schedule for the next day.
And yes, very timely.
We had dinner at a nice restaurant in the hotel.
2 chopsticks, the white for taking food from the dish, all dishes are shared in common "family style". The black one is for eating.
King Crab! Amazing.
Shrimps come complete with the head on. If we were cultural we'd suck out the heads, peel and eat the shrimp but we just peeled and ate the part of the shrimp we Americans eat!
We went to pay the bill and they do not accept credit cards with a card reader!!! They live by paying with alipay with your phone. We didn't have this at the time so we had to pay with cash and scrounge up enough. Ooops.
