2025 - April 7 - China Part 6 - Westlake, the Wetlands, and pearls

 

Back on the bus after breakfast to take off for Westlake and the wetlands

Busses get very cozy on the road. Not sure how they didn't at least scrape mirrors.

Not sure why there is a gold water buffalo in here but the real thing were at one time used for harvesting rice.

We took a boat to tour the lake

Cute girl on our boat. The kids are so cute!

Passing a floating pagoda

Not sure why the tour guide passed around a bottle of perfume. It did smell lovely.

I believe there are 3 pagodas around the lake. I wish that we were able to go inside.

Wildlife!

Squirrel! Chinese eat most things but not squirrel

They have a soup called the Dragon and the Lion (?)

made with snake and cat

The bikes and scooters are everywhere

We had lunch buffet locally

Check out the purse dessert

Then we road the bus tot he wetlands

KFC is pretty popular here

Hangzhou is known for the best tea in the world

drying the tea

We picked out a clam to see if we got any pearls

I scored pretty well

A boy made some earrings or bracelet

or ring with the pearls.
