Nativity Play
Anyone looking for a pre-done Nativity Play for children from the Douay Rheims Bible (but slight language adaptations) Here is a great one! Read: I was looking for one and I thought I'd share. The best part is that I know the family who wrote it. Small world.

Merry's First Holy Communion
Merry received his First Holy Communion at our High Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Merry and his cousin.
Fr. JB and Merry
Marigold. I was glad someone had the camera as I was busy and didn't take a single picture... except of the cake below....
My little soprano and Marigold.
Our children's Latin Mass choir sang for the High Mass.
Afterwards we had a dinner in the hall.
Now, this really takes the cake. No pun intended. If you do not know what I'm referring to....
NO JOKE! I ordered the cake from Costco and the lady said she'd put some red roses and congratulate Merry on his First Holy Communion. Instead she decorated it with holly and wrote HOLLY for Holy. BWAHAHA Someone I know *ahem* thought perhaps it was just my [odd]sense of humor. haha
Marigold as a baby Winkie
Woah.... nothing like dire need of a hair cut
Much better.

Happy Feast Day Most Blessed Mother of Mine
Would you be so kind as to tell me your name?
♥
I am the Immaculate Conception.
Lovely Lady dressed in blue,
Teach me how to pray!
God was just your little boy,
Tell me what to say!
Teach me how to pray!
God was just your little boy,
Tell me what to say!
Did you lift Him up, sometimes,
Gently on your knee?
Did you sing to Him the way
Mother does to me?
Gently on your knee?
Did you sing to Him the way
Mother does to me?
Did you hold His hand at night?
Did you ever try
Telling stories of the world?
O! And did He cry?
Did you ever try
Telling stories of the world?
O! And did He cry?
Do you really think He cares
If I tell Him things,
Little things that happen? And
Do the Angels' wings
If I tell Him things,
Little things that happen? And
Do the Angels' wings
Make a noise? And can He hear
Me if I speak low?
Does He understand me now?
Tell me, for you know.
Me if I speak low?
Does He understand me now?
Tell me, for you know.
Lovely Lady dressed in blue,
Teach me how to pray!
God was just your little boy,
And you know the way.
God was just your little boy,
And you know the way.

Catholics Come Home
EPIC Full Length from Catholics Come Home on Vimeo.
A friend of mine introduced me to this video. I thought it was well worth sharing. A sign of hope. I'm proud to be a part of the Catholic Family. I hope you are too. If you aren't part of the family yet... it's time to Come Home :)
Happy St. Nicholas Day
Lots of great life stories of St. Nicholas at The St. Nicholas Center.
It was really tempting not to get those neat bags from Menards that said "Coal" on them but since St. Nicholas was about the mercy and love of God, I refrained...! As I type I think the children have asked me about 100 times (each) if they can open their stockings.Mean mother of the year is waiting for them to finish their lunch and do their duties as I know that once they hit those chocolate gold coins I'll spend the rest of the day scraping Pippin off the ceiling... it's beside the point he only has 3 in there.... I was feeling generous. Not to mention, their duties are more likely to get done well in anticipation of a few little gifties. :) I'm sure you are wondering what's in there.... simplicity. That's what's in there... simplicity.
I love celebrating the saints!
My question is, how did St. Nicholas, who was a bishop morph into a fat man with a wife? I can get the toys idea through his generosity but I don't get the wife. Inquiring minds want to know.

Nuttin' Much
Do you think I'm cute?
Marigold and my friend's cat not quite trusting one another.... but thinking about it.
So, Merry needs a balance. Where was the balance I had bought? Why it was in a number of pieces out in the yard. Where else? Within a short while Sam had made a new one.
Much more interesting than the store-bought one anyway. And it does the job.
So... I came up with this brilliant idea to make up my own advent-and-12-days-of-Christmas calendar. Behind each door has an activity to accomplish (like clean out the front closet... which is done so please, open the door if you come here... it's ok... you won't be harmed in the process...) or celebrate (during the 12 Days). Anyway....
I son'r knoq hoq mux Ack... take two. I don't know how much time I spent getting images for this project but I figured I'd only have to do the images once so it was worth it. The images honored the feast day or some symbol or other.
So then all I'd have to do was cut the doors open. Have you ever tried to cut an advent calendar out with an exacto knife on a self-healing mat? (that is not some kind of yoga mat, that is a special mat for cutting with knives on and it heals itself, just want to make sure we are on the same page here) Anyway, I will never do that again, so don't ask me to make one for you. Next year I'll just take those jobs or whatever we end up doing for our sacrifices and putting them in a jar to grab out of.
But I did find this beautiful Advent Calendar (Amazon), and each day has a short little scripture quote.
There was a battle going on in the boys' room. There is always a battle going on in the boys' room.
