Happy Birthday and How Life Has Changed

Sam's place - 5 acres and a fixer upper house.

 Treasure

Back at home I was happy to see that my weeping pussy willow was blooming!

I thought the sun shining on the Sacred Heart was particularly lovely :)
Now with the Coronavirus scare we've got grocery stores constantly stocking.
Riced Cauliflower was all the frozen vegetables left at Costco. When push comes to shove, how many people want to be left living off frozen cauliflower bits?!

I have found myself with teary eyes more than once these days. Another shock was seeing now dining tables at Costco. Seemed so sad. (no samples either. I thought they could just give out whole samples!)

Homemade bagels. Since our mixer is so huge we have to make a ridiculous number of buns and loaves of bread so I thought we use some to make bagels since we enjoy those for breakfast.

Moh's Martial Arts, our Tae Kwon Do school now offers live streaming of classes. it's been great!

It was a horrifically sad day the day we heard that we could no longer attend Mass. But at least we still can go to Confession (so long as there are not more than 10 people present), praise God!

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Today my Grandma Maher died 39 years ago, I remember the day she died, the wake, the funeral, the party very vividly. I was 11 years old.

 Green pancakes of course.
Making of yet another dining room table.

While working more on how to arrange our TKD studio for our online classes we unearthed a plethora of belts, mostly from the old school.

Our annual St. Patrick's Day Rueben, green mashed potatoes, and green jello cubes.

 And then it snowed.
This week gas was at $1.65!
 Store outages and rations

All these signs also made my eyes water. How sad.

Our TKD school has all kinds of activities. Daily you can check off different things (like attending live stream classes or prerecorded or draw a picture or other challenges) towards earning prizes. Even stripes are done electronically. We record ourselves doing the various stripe curriculum and email it in. They will mail stripes at the end of the week.
Dire need of a hair cut.

 Working on a table

More Covid-19 signs. Long lines with everyone 6 feet apart

Gimme your best side kick (with your hobbit pants on)

Lots of toilet paper jokes going on. These was for Eowyn's 21-1/2 birthday :)

Sunday we tried to live stream but it wouldn't work for us so we watched it after it was finished. It was actually very beautiful and the homily was excellent. We tuned into St. John Cantius.

 Happy 14th  Birthday Pippin!

I decided to go out for a little walk. Visited the 3 dogs. Charlie (in the background) is very old now but seems to linger on.

Dratted rooster. I like the look of a rooster but loathe going anywhere near them. This one wanted to play the rooster game with me. I don't know why they always want to attack me! ARGH!

 Piglets

Everything is a bit muddy, but that's spring!

Happy birthday to Pippin and Aragorn who share a birthday. We had brownies and angel food cake.

Since there was the possibility of lock down, I took Merry, Pippin, and Bilbo up to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help. It was so beautiful. We were so blessed as the priest had decided to offer Adoration that day as it was likely going to be the last day to do so for quite some time.

Our Blessed Mother had appeared to Adele Brise (Brice) with the message to Catechize the children.

 May she rest in Peace

We walked the Rosary walk while saying the Rosary. The Peshtigo fire  had come all the way up to the edge of the fence but never went past it, saving the convent and sacred grounds. This happened the same day as the Great Chicago Fire.

Then we said the Stations of the Cross

This week fuel was down to $1.45/gallon.
Seriously, if I was going to be on a lock down, this would not be top on my to-get list of supplies.

At both Willie St. Coop and Costco, frames of glass or plexiglass were hung to keep the spreading of germs down.

 Car accident... Hail Mary...
Times are getting rough in some circles?!

Found these nifty ice cube trays with lids. Great for freezing freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Aragorn has an essential job since he fixed the much needed x-ray machines. He had to be screened to make sure he didn't have a fever before going into a clinic/hospital.

Frodo is one of the TKD school instructors so not only does he still have a job, he also gets to teach the on-line classes.

St. John Cantius has a youtube of the Stations of the Cross with Pergolesi's Stabat Mater https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUDY6h5chJg, so I listened/watched the live Youtube on my phone while walking our outdoor Stations of the Cross (with the indulgenced blessing).

 Monopoly

Some projects seem to have spiders work faster than we do. Yikes.. That's alot of cobweb!

Today our TKD instructor/owner had live stream Scavenger Hunt. It was alot of fun
