Behavioral Health Assessments

Here's Bill 374 to surely violate our freedoms as homeschoolers.

AN ACT REQUIRING BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ASSESSMENTS FOR CHILDREN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-206 of the general statutes be amended to require (1) each pupil enrolled in public school at grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 and each home-schooled child at ages 12, 14 and 17 to have a confidential behavioral health assessment, the results of which shall be disclosed only to the child's parent or guardian, and (2) each health care provider performing a child's behavioral health assessment to complete the appropriate form supplied by the State Board of Education verifying that the child has received the assessment.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide behavioral health assessments to children.

Here's an article to go along with the Bill.  I just wonder who these people are who think they know how to assess what is the proper behavior for children to have. I'm sure they aren't well-seasoned mothers and fathers with high standards of morality.  Of course "proper behavior" tends to be "proper socialization"  which tends to generally violate the 6th and 9th Commandments.  We've been through the social worker routine and the fine Social Worker actually said to me (I had just had my 10th baby), "I only have one child and I can't handle him, how can YOU handle 10?"  Methinks if I had said, "Grace" it would have made her guess we had a maid akin to Mary Poppins.

Heaven help us.... and especially our children!

Sobering Thought

For the next presidential election in 2016, I'll have 3 children who can vote.

Not-So-Harsh-Words Afterall

As seen in a bulletin:  (these were written by a priest, not by me... I just thought it was awesome)

Some people complain and say: Father uses harsh language.

I say: Not as harsh as the brutal baby-slaughtering metal instruments used to murder 10,000 babies every Saturday.

If someone wants to complain about harsh, let them complain about that.

We have not used harsh language, and 56,000,000+ babies have been slaughtered. We are way overdue.

There is NO SUCH THING as being "Catholic for Choice." You cannot be Catholic and pro-abortion, nor can you support those who are, with your funding or your vote. You certainly are free to support or vote for someone such as this, just as you are free to choose eternal damnation. However, if you support or vote for anyone so utterly evil, turn in your Catholic card at the door, and your Christian card too, because, de facto, you are neither Catholic nor Christian.

Support the slaughter of innocents, to your eternal damnation.

(No mincing of words there!!)

2016 Movie

I'm soooo not into politics but we had a gift card for a local theater (from about 2 years ago!) so we went to see 2016 Obama's America.  Very well done.  It wasn't what I expected. It wasn't fanatical.  I kept thinking of something I heard a priest say once that children suffer from the sins of their parents.  The part about Obama's life, particularly his childhood, was touchingly sad.  But it also goes to show that the people you choose for your role models will shape and form you and your ideals.  It goes to show the imporance of good fathers.   And this after I had just finished earlier today a beautiful book called St. Monica.  Her son, St. Augustine, was shaped and molded by poor role models but through his mother's prayers he (and his father before him) was converted and of course went on to become a great Bishop and Doctor of the church.  I digress....

The one part I don't get is the "love him hate him" part, I do get the "you don't know him part" but that other part I thought sort of jumped out of nowhere. I certainly can't see hate ever bears any good fruit, though I sure hope Obama is defeated in 2012 so we don't have to see what it will be in 2016 under his regime!!  But I definitely left the theater with  a rather sickish feeling and definitely I found myself pitying this man who is destroying our country and I also couldn't help think of the Cristeros... Will we find ourselves in the same situation?  Obama's got my prayers but definitely not my vote.  I'd like to see him in Heaven but definintly not in the White House any more (then again I never wanted to see him in the White House haha!)  Are you praying for him?

And my real thought all along was, "I really can't wait to see The Hobbit" haha!

Rosary Rally

Every Thursday evening until the election in November Catholics meet on the steps of our beautiful Capitol building to pray 15 decades of the Rosary.  This evening I was blessed to be able to go, usually I have my holy hour but due to the excessive heat and the fact that our church is built like a brick oven, Adoration was cancelled.
Ok, I don't know but doesn't that strike you as awesome a priest in full habit, sunglasses and cellphone?  In downtown Madison.  Awesome.
Galadriel, Frodo and Merry went with me.
Considering when we arrived at the Capitol at 6:35pm it was 104 degrees, there was a nice size crowd.  Thankfully there was a lovely breeze so it really wasn't uncomfortable.

I ask you to pray for a couple of the protesters whose blasphemous posters were horrendous.    Hail Mary.....

Happy Fourth-less of July

This is just plain local.  Dry everywhere. So obviously there are burning restrictions everywhere.  But just as proof.....

This is what our corn looks like.  Yes, that is corn not sugar cane.

We will have to skip fireworks this year as they are forbidden due to the very necessary burning restrictions but I noticed 2 fireworks places selling today.  You see it's ok to buy them just not light them.... *chuckle*  I did wonder though... would it be alright to do sparklers if you are sitting in your swimming pool?

On another note entirely separate from the needed burning restriction....  I wonder if this dry weather is a sign from Above to our country in general.  It's kind of like Independence-less Day without s'mores, bonfires and fireworks  but it seems to be where our country is going with the rights and freedoms written down by our Founding Fathers.  Now it's all about "freedom of choice" yet our choices are chosen for us.  Uncanny.

I usually get up and go to 6:30am Mass (I love mornings) but after being up playing musical beds most of the night trying to find a breath of air somewhere I just lay there watching the clock move past 6:30. Then I kicked myself as I love the TLM but I got up and went to Mass later and in the end it was a blessing. I ran into a friend of mine who told me that blueberries were in season nearby.  Strawberries and Blueberries thrill me.  And it was only 95 degrees at 9am so we followed her to the patch.
Our goal was to fill up 4 pails (20 pounds) but by the time we filled up 2 we were dripping.
Thanks Kay for letting us know about the blueberries ! :D  Can I take an order for some of that blueberry pie?
Merry getting a lift while Pippin is driving.   Would you?!  It's enough to ride in a car with a 16 year old driver.... but riding with a 6 year old in a go cart is just too much.
I was asked recently by a Grand Knight if we have a permit for the "Giant Pumpkin Patch Raceway"  *chuckle*  You just never know what you'll find at our place.... however I do have a restriction... no toilet flower pots please!
Woops, did we forget your nap, Marigold?   Eowyn was the champion for falling asleep at doorways.  The first time that happened I nearly had a heart attack, I thought she was dead.  Merry on the other hand gets the prize for the oddest places to take a nap.
I hope that is a bit off, but just the same, I'm sitting in a hot house with a hot laptop on my hot lap.  I think it is time to venture out to that pool.
Oh my goodness, couldn't you just eat her up?

 The Bug's stickers arrived.
 I picked the number #490 (forgive 70x7times)
Just proving that M&M's do melt in your mouth and in your hands.  Why was the baby eating an M&M?
It rained just long enough for me to say "Get the camera it is raining!"and take the picture, then it stopped.  But it was rain.  Thankfully one of our great priests is offering a Mass on Saturday for Rain.

God Bless America!
