A friend of mine told me about this nifty experiment. If the day is very, very cold (you southerners don't know what cold is) you take a cup of boiling water and throw it up in the air and it instantly vaporizes. On this particular day it was 24 degrees *below* zero excluding any windchill factor. I cannot believe I got to be the ol' lady I am without ever hearing of this and I'm a northerner.

Boiling Water on a Cold Day

ReplyDeleteMy son has always wanted to try that...he's a Texan. BTW, I KOVE that your son is sporting a short sleeved T in that -24* pic. My Texan neighbors are horrified that my children are out in short sleeves when it is below about 65*.
