Butterflies

Time for some hair cuts. Not sure why Eleanor is the only one who got the photos taken.

I made pickled jalapenos. Haven't tried them yet but they look good.
The chicken house is coming along.

Our washing machine died. It lasted 8 years with the amount of laundry we do. 2-3 loads a day. Our system is each bedroom has 1 day per week, then there are also uniforms, hand towels and other general use towels, cleaning rags, and other miscellaneous items. The idea is that each "room-of-the-day" cleans the laundry room. That's ideal. Reality isn't always ideal. But, this system avoids "Mount Neverest"
In with the new

A darkening chrysalis means a butterfly will soon emerge... and... voila!

meanwhile contrary to butterfly beauty, we have laundry room ugliness. Guess there had been a leak. Yuck.

When our first butterfly emerged, we did not know about finding the gender of a butterfly. We have since learned it is easy to tell. This one was a boy.

Sam is rebuilding our laundry room. New practicality is my favorite.
Check out my giant green pepper from our garden! I made a delicious Pasta Primavera for dinner.
I don't know, no reason, just thought all the multi-colored clothespins looked cute. Usually there is a plethora of swim suits on the clothesline.
Evening swims are glorious.

Meanwhile in the background the boys are building a fire for roasting s'mores.
And the girls are making a raft. Interesting.

Neat drawbridge on the chicken house.
Peek-a-boo

When one misses out on the big fire, one makes due with inside fire for roasting marshmallows.

Butterfly #2 hatched.

It's a BOY! See the 2 dots on either side of the tail? Boy indicator. The females have thicker veins I'm told.

Adios!

Guinea sightings!

Our 3rd butterfly emerged.

It's a BOY. This makes our 3rd boy in a row.
This one was reluctant to fly so we brought it back in. And then it released into the house. It took a while to catch it again.

It was just too wet I guess.
Finally it bid us farewell.
Fresh home-made sweet pickle relish. Best ever. One batch makes 2 quarts. I don't even bother to seal it properly as we will just eat it quick enough.
We also picked grapes and I juiced them with a steam juicer.

Chocolate Boy.
