Driver 6 - NY Trip Days 1 & 2

A familiar scene with Samwise!

Eowyn baked us delicious cherry pies!

It's official, 1/2 my children have their driver's license! Someone is VERY thrilled!

We celebrated with breakfast at Hubbard Diner

I took 5 of the kids to NY with me. We drove a smooth 8-1/2 hours to a "glamping" cabin (Airbnb). Ran on solar!

Weather was gorgeous when we arrived. The cabin is on the back  of the couple's 5 acres. We were able to run and romp abou.
Yes, this is, truly, the water source.

This off-the-grid experience (like we don't live that every day) was complete with a privy.

Kids saw the solar thingies and said, "There is only 1?!" HAHA!

We enjoyed swimming and using the kayak and paddle boad

Merry and I worked on our forms, he ran around the large pond a couple of times.

This "tavern" was recommended for dinner. We had shirley temples, root beer and water when suddenly the lights went out and it began to down pour like crazy. They gave us the drinks for free and we left as they didn't know how long it was going to be before we could actually eat and we were very hungry.

Then we went to Bob Evans and had a great meal,

Anyone remember these wax bottles with "juice" inside? They are *not* as good as you remember and my kids thought we were crazy to have liked them as kids.

Day 2 we drove the remaining 4 hours and 45 minutes to beautiful Skaneateles, NY. I forgot to take pictures at Doug's fish fry. After lunch we  went to a book sale. A sweet lady even who also had been homeschooling for 20 year bought us a Civil War book. Such a thoughtful person. I'm kicking myself for not asking her name. Sigh!

Then we arrived at the lake house(s) my (immediate and extended) family is staying at. Very nice!

The 3 "little" girls build a boat out of a long piece of drift wood.
Kili decided to try and ride it, he did pretty well! Must be all the balance practice at TKD!
TREASURE!!! Kili was given Uncle E's old matchbox cars! (Uncle E is my sister's husband) What a treasure! He was beyond delighted!!
Uncle M (another's sister's husband) made a delicious dinner! It's always something to look forward to, M's cooking!!! Not picture were the black beans and rice.

Then we had s'mores by the bonfire.
