2024 - July 16 - White House

I was so excited to get tickets into the White House. In case you ever get the opportunity, you contact your congressman and fill out the form with dates when you want to go 21-90 days ahead of time. Then you wait until you hear back from the White House and fill in that form with your names, dates of birth, ss numbers, etc... Then you wait until a week or two or three before your designated date. I had been in the White House as a child. I did not remember the complexity of the following....

We had to wait out in the blistering sun about an hour. They were kind to give us some fans. This is where another comical thing happened. So you are only allowed to bring in a phone and ID. I had a pouch for my phone, the size of my phone. Security made that a big no-no, meantime my sister was no where to be found so we had to find a garbage can to throw it away in... which was halfway down the block. Thanks to Pippin, long legged and capable of running fast, he saved the day. 😂

Sometimes we got luck and could park ourselves under a pop-up tent. It was HOT. 107 plus nice, fine humidity. 

I was thinking we were special to get it. Special with hundreds and hundreds of other special people.

You go through security TWICE with ID over 18 or stating your birth date if under 18. Only one minor panic.  Then you go through the zapper scanner thing.

Marigold noticed the Washington Monument in the distance.

And we only have 3 sets of China...

What's up with the peace sign in nearly every photo? Then again, this one is a peaceable character... spread the love...

The White House was absolutely gorgeous. I loved all the little signs with things that happened in the rooms. 

He can say he played a video game in the White House. 😂😂😂😂😂
