Good Friday

 Pilate has Jesus scourged
Jesus was scourged so severely that He was torn open and His ribs were laid bare, large pieces of skin hung from His Body.
Jesus is mocked as a king and crowned with thorns.
According to private revelations to St. Bridget, the crown of thorns covered his whole head and that the thorns were driven with such violence into His Sacred Head that blood gushed out in streams, covering His whole Face.  St. Alphonsus Liguori also spoke of how the long thorns were driven into His brain.
Behold the Man.  And what does Pilate do? He washes his hands of the whole affair.
The carrying of the Cross.
He bore the weight of all our sins, every last one of them.
Jesus is nailed to the Cross
Jesus is Crucified.
Woman, behold thy son. Son, behold they Mother.
St. Alphonsus Liguori says that Christ received no comfort, not even to look upon His Mother.  To look at her brought Him a deep pain as He saw how much she suffered for Him.
Jesus' side is pierced with a lance and out poured blood and water.
Jesus is taken down from the Cross and is laid in the arms of His Mother.

I highly recommed The Passion and Death of Jesus Christ by St. Alphonsus Liguori.
